Freebook Global Technologies's James Fry and Jack Regnart are currently in Zambia attending the 'Pan-Africa Workshop on Effective Implementation of a National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance'.
The event has been organised by a number of parties including the Zambian Ministry of Health and Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI). Freebook Global Technologies has been invited to attend because of our involvement in helping to develop and support an exciting new anti-microbial resistance (AMR) surveillance initiative, working with FIND (Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics) and eSHIFT Partner Network. This project has been funded by the UK's Global Antimicrobial Resistance Fund.
AMR, or anti-microbial resistance, is a growing danger to human health as antibiotics, our last line of defence against disease, are becoming increasingly less effective in neutralising new and mutating disease threats.
Zambia's initiative is as ambitious as it is far reaching, covering human, animal and environmental health, and at Freebook Global Technologies we are proud to have been able to deploy our brand new platform 'Open Interop' in support of the program.
James Fry, Freebook Global Technologies's Managing Director, said:
"It is both exciting and rewarding to be actively involved in the fight againstanti-microbial resistance. We are very proud to be considered among the world's leading experts on interoperability, and we're grateful to our partners in supporting us with this work. We look forward to sharing a case study on this project, and releasing more information about our open-source software platform - Open Interop."
