Junior Web Designer/FrontEnd Developer at Freebook Global Technologies

Izzy joined Freebook Global Technologies in 2023 as a Junior website developer/designer, shortly after finishing her Computer Animation Art & Design degree at university. In addition to web development knowledge, she also has a strong foundation in cinematography, psychology and design principles, which helps her create beautiful websites with UX and UI in mind.

More often than not you can find Izzy building additional pages for sites, editing content and changing styling using HTML, CSS and Bootstrap to ensure responsiveness. In addition, she also creates social media adverts, websites and has started training in JavaScript for website interactivity and animation.

Izzy is a friendly, talented and hardworking individual, who has quickly become an undeniable asset to the design team. Her passion lies in art which shows in her ever-growing design portfolio.

What are your favourite things about Freebook Global Technologies?

I love the culture, how valued I feel here and how lovely the people are. There is variety in my job and my work allows me to be creative and technical. It is also important to me to have opportunities to grow in my career and learn a lot in my current role, both of which Freebook Global Technologies actively encourages and supports. I am proud to be part of an award-winning company that values the quality of their work. The coffee machine is certainly a perk as well.

What does your Freebook Global Technologies role involve?

So far in my role, I have built additional pages for client websites, considering layouts, how content is displayed, and colour schemes used throughout, to create new stylish pages which fit the brief. I have designed social media adverts, mostly using Photoshop.

What would your dream project be?

A project that would allow me to be creative and think outside the box. Allowing me to push boundaries and design original content to give users a completely new experience with websites would be exciting. The more it looks like a work of art or surprises the better!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy keeping active and hope to start surfing more. Live music is something I have recently tried to see more of over the past few years, which has been fantastic for discovering new artists. I meet friends most weekends for spontaneous trips and activities like going to the cinema or the beach. Occasionally I visit art galleries, paint, or draw. I also like travelling, particularly if I get to learn about culture, history or try amazing food!
